A little bit about me
A somewhat crazy mix of interests from nutrition, coaching, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, psychology and behaviour, design, travel, nature, sunsets and rain, the Big Bang Theory, reading and my cats, I'm a thermomix owner with a love for cooking simple and healthy meals that are tasty.
Despite a varied career journey that has seen me navigate through retail, banking and admin jobs into a somewhat longer fling with graphic design, marketing and advertising, I am now following my true passion in nutrition. The journey has provided many twists and turns and seen me explore paths I may not otherwise encountered providing a depth of experience that I bring with me to assist you discover your own path.
Health at Every Size® or HAES® is perhaps the most life changing detour I've taken. It has given meaning, insights and purpose in my pursuit of nutrition and health knowledge. HAES® provides a non-judgemental framework to explore health without a focus on weight. This is truly just about health. It's a direction rather than a destination and best of all, it's decided by you!
So now I am a nutritionist, a coach and a speaker. I am in the process of completing my masters degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at Edith Cowan University. As a dietitian-to-be it is culmination of my formal education in nutrition and health and informal passion for health and nutrition and education and making a difference. I began with a BSc in Human Biology (minor in Biomedical Science and an emphasis on genetics), adding in a Post Grad Diploma in Counselling. I have also done additional training in integrative nutrition, coaching, neurolinguistic programming, hypnosis, coaching, performance consulting and speaking.
My interest areas include but are by no means limited to HAES®, nutrition and health. My aim is to specialise in disordered eating, eating disorders and body image with the HAES® insights and approaches.
